Because of this, you can expect to pay substantially more for a platinum ring than a gold one. Lots of celebrity couples have chosen platinum rings as their symbols of commitment. After all, they can certainly afford to buy the best. With the high rate of hook-ups and break-ups happening in Hollywood, the rings often last longer than the marriages do!
