Wedding Ring Bands

When you are plnning your wedding you have a very happy but busy time with so many different things to make chooose. First you must set the date then find the right location. Next you arrange to purchase the wedding dress, outfit the wedding party, plan the reception and of course, choose the wedding ring bands. The wedding band is a symbol of eternal love between a husband and a wife and has been so through hundreds of years of human existance. This very simple simple unbroken circle represents everything about the lifelong commitment that you will be entering into at your wedding when you exchange your vows.

A wedding band may be very simple in shape and design but there are many different choices when it comes to the design. One of the first things to consider is what kind of metal you prefer your bands to be created from. Will it be the most popular choices of gold or platinum? Gold comes in different shades such as yellow, white and even rose. It is measured in carats which is the amount of pure gold that it is made from. 24 carat gold is the most pure, 14 being the least pure and 18 being in the middle of the purity scale. Platinum, on the other hand, is usually around 95% pure. It is heavier and more expensive than gold, and is often the choice for couples who want only the best.

Some things do change in the wedding band world and recent changes include using titanium and stainless steel. Each one of these metals is silver in color and offer a lasting durability in addition to modern good looks. Not only that, but these metals are often more affordable than gold or platinum. Metal isn't the only consideration when it comes to wedding bands, however. There are many different designs couples can choose from as well.

Wedding ring bands may be very simple and plain, or they can be ornately cut with beautiful designs. Many couples like to have their bands engraved with a special message. You can find bands that are engraved on the outside, although the most popular spot for engraving is on the inner part of the band. You could engrave your names, your wedding date, or a special inscription that has personal significance. Your jeweler will let you know how much engraving costs and how many characters can be fit on your rings. Whether you go for engraving or not, the most important thing is to choose bands that fit comfortably and suit your personal taste. Choose wisely since your wedding band is the most important piece of jewelry you will ever wear.
