Spring & Garden Wedding Favors Bring Color Possibilities

Spring is the season of love, and that means weddings. Couples who get married in the spring face the unique task of incorporating the newness and vitality of the season into a celebration of their love and commitment. Spring wedding favors can make a wedding feel vibrant and organic, fresh and clean.
Let's talk first about spring wedding favors. The colors you normally associate with Easter are the colors you will use for your favors. This means lots of pastels, which are light and eye-pleasing. The soft colors will not pull attention from the bride, where it should be. Some preferred color choices for your spring wedding favors will include pink, lavender or light turquoise. On the other hand, avoid yellows and oranges as well as darker hues. Blue and gray in particular are terrible choices.
When a couple uses spring or garden wedding favors, the possibilities are endless. The sheer number of favors available allows couples to choose from a variety of possible effects. The couple can use a chorus of reds and pinks to remind those gathered of their deep love, or they can use pastel greens, yellows, and blues to highlight the beauty of spring. Tables can feature hearts, or they can feature fruit and flowers, and other symbols of life. The use of spring wedding favors places a couple in the middle of the natural process, allowing them to anticipate their new life the way they anticipate the new season. It reaffirms an organic process love and life that will continue long beyond the ceremony, and even beyond a lifetime.
The same is true with shifting sunlight or whether or not a section of the wedding party will be seated in the shade. For garden wedding favors, the colors chosen should follow the same restrictions as those for spring wedding favors, but there is a difference in color use. Pastel colors may not work the best for outside. Their true hues are more easily susceptible to the environment. Sunlight, shade, and surrounding vegetation may clash with the colors. More solid colors, like reds, greens, and light blues are better choices for outside weddings.
It is also important to have a variety in the colors chosen. Picking a single color will make the appearance bland. Two colors is generally the safest bet, but three, if they can be balanced well, will have more substantially pleasing effect. Another factor to consider when choosing color is the amount of color. Do not overwhelm the guests with too much color and white must never be chosen to stand alone. Color will accent the white, but white alone becomes blinding, dull, and boring. Too much color is an obvious distraction.
Regardless of spring wedding favors or garden wedding favors, the favors should be simple and they should blend casually and unobtrusively with table settings. The favors should be able to be carried easily, and conveniently. They should not have to be moved from the table in order for guests to enjoy themselves. Also, the gifts should be universal. Choose favors that everyone at the wedding party will enjoy in some form or another. Keep in mind that the favors will be tokens of sentimentality. Champagne glasses, shot glasses, bottle openers, candles, and picture frames are some of the most popular wedding favors.
